Scaffold Alarms
A Halt Alarms system generally comprises of a pair of photoelectric beam sensors, a control panel, keypad, 110bd alarm bell and signs. Our systems are very easy to operate and are set/unset via a four digit code entered into a LCD keypad, which can be placed internally or externally in a lockable box, at no extra charge, for ease of access. They also have tamper protection and sensors cannot be triggered by animals, birds, rain or falling leaves, avoiding false detection. Our systems can also be powered either by an internal 240v mains supply or by an external 110v power supply, in order to conform with current health and safety requirements and all leads and transformers are supplied free of charge. Positioning of the equipment is equally important, as we want to detect intruders at the first opportunity, i.e at first point of access. Sensors are normally positioned on the first boarded platform or at ladder openings in order to detect intruders. In awkward/recessed areas or on ‘skeleton-unboarded’ scaffolds, we can flood the entire area using our intelligent pir dectectors in order to detect intruders. Although current legislation allows a maximum bell time of up to 20 minutes, these are often ignored and considered a nuisance. Our bell times are usually limited to between 2-5 minutes, so as not to cause a nuisance, but long enough to scare the intruder away, ensuring immediate protection after the initial activation.
